Sorry for the delay, but I do have plenty pictures.

June 15th was my birthday and it was pretty low key. We went to Superior Grill and I had the regular size margarita- I had work the next day and y'all know I develop a flat tire early :) The theme was yellow and yes I made my family wear yellow shirts. And Carl gave me the beautiful flowers.

We also went to Destin in June and stayed at The Palms of Destin. The place was awesome and pool was the best thing! We only went to the beach one day, but Alayna was a total beach bum. Kayla had a good time swimming in the water, but also looking out for the sharks! We spent a lot of time in the pool and Alayna had a ball. She was in her floatie kicking her feet and trying to drink the water. And of course Kayla made friends and became the "IT" girl. We were sad to leave.

Kayla and Carl attended the Girl Scouts' Father/ Daughter dance. It was a country western theme. Both were excited about the dance, while there Kayla did not want to dance with Carl. She instead wanted to pay with her friends. I guess she was embarrassed- she is too funny!

May was a Holy Month

In May Kayla made her First Communion and we christened Alayna. Kayla's First Communion was awesome. She was able to sit with family then entire mass and we all went up as one for communion. The family made a semi circle around Kayla and witnessed her receiving communion. You know I was on the verge of tears- I was so proud of her.

Alayna was christened on May 17th. Lenny and Arianne stood in as sponsors. Alayna did suprisingly well. She just had this weird look on her face when the water was poured on her head. And Kayla was a sour-puss that day because she got in trouble for acting up in church.

Easter

We had a great time on Sunday. We slept by my Mom's in NO Saturday night and all went to church on Sunday. I was so excited because my girls were decked out in their Easter dresses.
Kayla actually racked up this year- she received $40 from various egg hunts! I wish we had Easters like this when I was growing up! Hope you enjoy the pics.

Back at work...

Going back wasn't as hard as I thought. In fact, I kind of welcomed it, especially after the time I had with Alayna last week. I actually was looking forward to the break. I was so nervous about getting three people together and out the house on time. Well I did it with time to spare.

Alayna did great at daycare (or so they say). She slept most of the day and only started "acting up" about 30 mins before I came to pick her up. When I got there, she was laying in a crib cooing at the baby in the mirror. Of course she was stuck on me the entire evening! Hope the rest of the week goes as smoothly.

I can't believe how big she is getting! Time is definitely flying by. She is smiling and cooing, although I can never get a picture of her doing these things. I put a mirror in her crib and she talks to "the baby" all the time. Also her favorite song is Itsy Bitsy Spider (she laughs everytime I sing it). I go back to work on March 30 and I'm so sad.

So we finally took pics as a family a couple of weeks ago. I am lovin' on these pictures! Can't wait to print them. It started out with just having pics of the "girls", but we also had to do a Saints theme! The pics came out great and we had so much fun doing it. My faves are of Sydney and Kayla and Alayna.

Introducing our newest member to the Francis clan- "Alayna Michelle Francis"!

Wow, were we surprised to find out we have a baby girl. Everyone thought it was a boy! It was awesome to be surprised. I'm glad we held out and didn't try to find out.

Alayna was born on January 21st @ 12:39p (I was watching Days of Our Lives at the time). She's 7 lbs/ 20 inches and came out screaming.

We feel so blessed to have yet another wonderful experience. Kayla is such a good Big Sister and a good helper. If Carl and I had a nickel for each kiss she gives the baby, we would be millionaires.

OMG- MY DAUGHTER IS 8 YEARS OLD. Time is definitely flying by. Thank God she still likes to cuddle. She went skating with a couple of her friends, then had the family over for ice cream

and cake.

Kayla's Brownies troop participated in the Jones Creek Christmas Parade. Our float was a boat, which actually came out cute. Carl was a chaperone. We all had a good time. Of course we ran out of throws halfway through the parade.

Saturday was my baby shower and we had a great time. I was excited to see people I haven't seen in a couple of years. The food, cake, decorations and company was wonderful. Big thanks to Arianne, Pat, Mom and Jenny (she designed the invitation) for helping out.

I thought this was a cute picture of Kayla. Look at those legs- she is getting so tall! Last weekend was the first Pontilly festival in New Orleans. It was so cool to see people I haven't seen in years.

I'm so excited because the cool weather is coming- the hot, muggy summer is over!

Starting to make progress

This week I finally feel the need to get off my butt and start preparing for the baby's arrival. So far the only thing I have is a crib from my boss and one outfit I bought from JC Penney's. So yesterday I checked out ebay for some nursery decor and found the perfect bedding set. Best of all I was able to purchase 13 pcs for only $49.99- brand new! I can't wait to receive the package. A pic is below.

The funniest thing happened last Friday. Carl and I went to a wedding and of course I was ready to eat as soon as we got there. Well I was standing in the food line while Carl was getting drinks. A friend of mine told me the "good" food was in another room, so I got out of line and walked up to Carl (or so I thought), rubbed his back and told him "Bey, I heard the real food is on the next room". Well the guy turned around and was looking at me weird. The funniest part was that Carl was right behind him, looking at the whole thing, but never said a word. I was so embarrassed!

Playing Catch Up

Now, I need to get you all caught up to date. For those that don't know, I'm pregnant with #2. I know "by time", but things happen, and Carl and I are finally ready and able to continue growing our family.

We announced the news to family on my Birthday/ Father's Day June 15th.

Our due date is January 28th and we're extremely excited, especially Kayla. She rubs my tummy and kisses the baby goodnight.

Boy or Girl- Humm good question. We're going to wait- it makes the day even special!

Kayla is now 7 and is growing up fast. I'm amazed at the stuff she talks about- ooh and she is nosey (and will spill the beans). So be careful what you say around her! I guess she's a tween because she is into makeup, hair, clothes and shoes. She also loves HSM, Hannah Montana, Camp Rock and The Jonas Brothers.
